A great teacher, great coach, great man. He will be missed by all who knew him. While he came after those Tom Brokaw called the greatest generation, he would have fit well in that group given the life he lived. He taught me some valuable lessons on the baseball field in '64 and '65, lessons that served me well throughout my career and personal life. I will always appreciate him as someone who cared about people and stood ready to help when needed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Miss Sally and his entire family.

One of the best! Coach Monroe had a major influence upon my life while I was a student at IJC. He was an amazing Western Civilization teacher and became a mentor to me.
A great coach, teacher, friend, and brother.
I will treasure my memories of my friend.
