Darlene Armstrong Obituary

Darlene Moore Armstrong was born January 4, 1962 to John and Ethel Moore of Houston, MS. Darlene became a member of Westside Church Of Christ about 45 years ago. Darlene graduated from Houston High School in 1980. She was married to Bob Armstrong for almost 40 years. She had a creative mind and a positive outlook on life despite anything that came her way. Darlene love helping people. She loved her family. She loved to make others feel special. She was an uncertified counselor but loved to give others advice. She was a peacemaker. During her younger days she was a superstar playing softball. She did attend cosmetology school. Her first job was at the Sonic Drive-in. She was a hard worker. She worked at Pep Manufacture for many years. She worked for Pak-A-Pok as the manager of the Deli for over 15 years. She was dependable and if she told you she was going to do something, you could bank on it. She was a lady of her word. Darlene lost two men that were the love of her life, father John Moore and husband Bob Armstrong in April 2020. Darlene passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Diversicare in Tupelo, MS. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 3-5:30 p.m. at Montgomery Mortuary In Houston, MS. Services will be Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Westside Church Of Christ in Houston, MS. Interment to follow at Houston City Cemetery in Houston, MS. Montgomery Mortuary of Houston, MS in charge of arrangements. Darlene leaves behind son Brandon Armstrong, whom she loved dearly, her mother Ethel L. Moore, one brother Ricky Moore, three sisters: Celeste(Willie), Dessie Cousins and Barbara Hughes(deceased), four nieces: Shameeka Williams, Jasna Smith, Brittney Moore and Nekqua Hughes, two nephews Bryant Moore and Troquad Hughes, sister-in-law Lisa(Thomas) Cooperwood, two special friends Darlene loved and appreciated, Shelia Doss and Sherry Gates, and a host of loving relatives.
