1960 - 2015

FULTON – Mr. William Edward ""Eddie"" Harper, 55, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born July 10, 1960, in Lee County to James William ""Billy"" Harper and Jimmie Doris Day Harper. He lived all of his life in Chickasaw County until most recent years, when he moved to the Evergreen community of Itawamba County. During his younger adult life, Eddie was a truck driver and was general manager at United Furniture Manufacturing at the time he became disabled about a year ago. He loved all God's creation especially hunting, fishing and going to the beach. He was an avid conversationalist and greatly enjoyed fast cars, muscle cars and his Corvettes. He loved all things Ole Miss and was an avid SEC football fan. Eddie loved his job and his associates at United Furniture, celebrating holidays with fireworks and revelry. He was a practical jokester and loved his English bulldog, Georgia. He was a fun loving soul that will be missed by many.
A graveside service celebrating Eddie's life will be at 3:30 p.m.Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at Harper Mountain Cemetery on the family farm in Van Vleet where he grew up with Bro. Lynn Hughes and Bo Fields officiating.. Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Survivors include his mother, Jimmie Day Harper of Van Vleet; wife, Kimberly G. ""Kim"" Sheffield Harper, whom he married May 6, 2005, of Evergreen; five daughters, Carli Beth Harper of Van Vleet, Casey Harper Turnage (McRae) of Amory, Shelley Harper Sullivan (Tyke) of Okolona, Alli Laney (Wesley Rodgers) and Megan Laney (Wesley Loague), all of Itawamba County; brother, David Collums (Jeanie) of Houlka; sister, Glenda Parker (Rodger) of Gordo, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Dylane, Taylor, McRae, Scarlett, Maiyer, Kennedy Ann, Presley and Blakeley; a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Harper.
Pallbearers will be Tony Ray, Danny Bennett, Wesley Loague, Wesley Rodgers, Dylane Pannell, Glenn McKissack, Craig Wedel and Stephen Winter. Honorary pallbearers will be all associates from United Furniture family.
