Ella Stiles Obituary

TUPLEO – Mrs. Ella Pitts Stiles lost her 4 month battle with cancer and went home to her Lord and Savior on January 4, 2014. She was a strong and faithful Christian and loved her family, Church and many friends. She was born in Pontotoc County to the late John Robert Pitts and the late Sue Dillard Pitts. She graduated from New Harmony High School in Pontotoc County and attended Memphis Business College. She met the love of her life, Roy Stiles in 1947 and they were married April 27th, 1947. Together, they shared fifty nine wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2006. ""Miss"" Ella was a faithful member of Harrisburg Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed her very special Golden Circle Sunday School Class. She was employed for 16 years as bookkeeper and credit manager at Nesco Lighting. She retired from Cedars Health Center after 16 years as office manager and medical records supervisor. Ella enjoyed reading, buying and selling antiques and visiting the sick.
A graveside service only, per her wishes, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery off old Highway 9 in Pontotoc County. Rev. David Smith will officiate. There will be no other visitation. Holland Funeral Directors is entrusted with all arrangements.
Ella is survived by her sons: Mike Stiles and wife, Debbie of Tupelo and Randy Stiles and wife, Kathy of Shannon. Four grandchildren: Shanna Allred (Richard) of Pontotoc, Justin Stiles of Shannon, Lauren McMillen (T.J.) of Guntown and Anna Stiles of Shannon. Two great grandchildren: Michael Hunter Allred of Pontotoc and Aiden McMillen of Guntown. Her sister in law: Doris DeBerry of Hernando and many special nieces and nephews. A group of special friends: Janie Williams, David Monaghan, Lawrence and Mary Estes, Ann and Troy Harris, Ethel Cook, Urcle Lomenick, Jimmy Crockett, Kathryn Walden, Billie McCarty, Susan McCarty, Rose Comer, Theresa and Larry Loden and Libby Banks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; a brother, Robert Truitt Pitts; a half sister, Jewel Pitts; and a sister in law, Frances Church.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Pitts, Ernest Wilder, Mickey Baker, Michael Harkness, Richard Allred and Hunter Allred.
Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo, MS. 38803 or to Harrisburg Baptist Church, 4675 Cliff Gookin Blvd, Tupelo, MS. 38801.

So sorry for your loss. Mrs. Stiles was always so nice to me when Mother was at Cedars and she always had time to chat a while when I would see her out and about. May God comfort the family at this sad time.
