Danny Allred Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by United Funeral Service, Inc. on Feb. 6, 2026.
Danny Hugh Allred, 77, passed away on February 4, 2026, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born on March 7, 1948, in New Albany, Danny's life was a testament to the values of hard work, service, and community.

Danny was preceded in death by his loving parents, Hugh Thomas and Dessie Lee Sanford Allred, his devoted wife, Shelia Smithey Allred, and his cherished son, Greg Allred. His memory will be carried on by his caring sister, Margie Adair, and his two brothers, David Allred (Rita) and Benny Allred (Louise), who will miss him dearly.

Danny was a proud veteran, having served our nation in the United States Army with the same dedication that he would later bring to his career as a truck driver. His years on the road never diminished his love for people; he was known for striking up conversations with everyone he met, his warm presence leaving a lasting impression on countless lives.

Danny's green thumb was evident in the garden he raised each year, a labor of love that he continued until his health no longer permitted. Danny's love for the outdoors was evident to anyone who knew him. He could often be found riding his bicycle around the community, greeting neighbors with a smile and a wave. Danny Allred will be remembered as a loving brother, a friendly face in the community, and a man who lived his life with a gentle spirit

Services to honor his life will be on Monday at 11:00am with Bro. Don Wilson officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5:00pm-8:00pm both being at United Funeral Service. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
