Gregory Allred Obituary
A proud son to his dear father, Danny Allred, and his loving mother, the late Shelia Joyce Smithey Allred, Greg was a beacon of strength within his family circle. His parents instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication, which he carried throughout his life as a dutiful crane operator at West Fraser-Guntown Mill, formerly named Norbord.
Greg was not just passionate about his work; A sports enthusiast, Greg delighted in the thrill of baseball and football. His loyalty to his teams was unwavering, but none more so than for Ole Miss, for whom he was a huge fan. Many weekends were spent cheering on his team, clad in their colors, surrounded by fellow fans that soon became friends.
Intelligent and interesting, Greg's presence was a source of fascination and learning for all who had the pleasure of engaging in conversation with him. His quick wit and insightful observations made him an engaging conversationalist and a treasured companion.
Greg Allred's legacy is one filled with the echoes of laughter at a ball game, the wisdom imparted in quiet conversations, and the gentleness found in nature's embrace. He leaves behind a community richer for his contributions and a family that will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He will be profoundly missed, but the impact of his fifty-one years will endure well beyond his time on this earth. Gregory Kirk Allred lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind a blueprint of a life well-lived.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. All times will be at United Funeral Service. Bro. Jerry King will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
