Elsie Morton Sanders

1928 - 2017

Elsie Morton Sanders, age 89, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at her residence in Hamilton. She was born March 11, 1928 to William Eclee Morton and Vadie Rillian Parker Morton in Lowndes County. She was a 1946 graduate of Caledonia High School. She retired in 1999 after thirty years as Dietary Manager at Aberdeen Monroe County Hospital in Aberdeen. She was a member of Hamilton Methodist Church.

Services will be at 2:00 p. m., Friday, April 14, 2017 in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Rev. Billy Stevens and Rev. Roger McGrew officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Winchester (Ralph) of Red Bay, AL, and Diane Cheatham of Madison, MS; two sons, Charles Sanders of Hamilton, MS and Gary Sanders (Sheila) of Hamilton, MS; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of thirty-six years, Charles Ray Sanders, Sr.; two grandchildren, Ashley Rhett and Christopher Lee Winchester; son-in-law, Jimmy Cheatham.

Pallbearers are Gunter Cheatham, Bo Sanders, Ben Sanders, Collin Sanders, Justin Sanders, and Chris Sanders.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time, Friday, April 14, 2017 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
