Gene Browning Obituary

Curtis Gene Browning, 73, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at NMMC in Tupelo. He was born in Dennis, MS to Howard Curtis and Alice Christine Poole Browning. He was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church since 1986. He served as choir director for many years. He was employed by Hoover, Inc. for 37 years. He loved his beautiful wife and family.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 10, 2 p.m. at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Tishomingo with Bro. Bill Burcham, Bro. Duane Burcham and Bro. James Terry officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mavis Browning; one son, Ian Browning (Gretta); three daughters, Erin Browning, Angie Bryan (Travis) and Vickie Hunt; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Browning and his mother, Christine "Maw Teene" Browning; his sister, Jane Williams and father and mother-in-law, Deck and Loraine Taylor.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 5-9 p.m. at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.
