Dr. Harry Klauser

1949 - 2024

Dr. Harry Edward Klauser, 74, died January 5th, 2024 in New Albany, MS from a long illness. Son of William Victor Klauser and Mary Frances Klauser Pierce, he was born October 14,1949 in Tucson, Arizona. He briefly lived in Dallas, Texas then moved to Houston, MS. Harry belonged to the Class of 1967 at Houston High School. He attended Mississippi State University and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University (class of 1974).

Harry was a skilled surgeon and dedicated veterinarian who took great pride in caring for his patients, with a particular fondness for English Bulldogs. He practiced in Tupelo, Mississippi and the surrounding area. He was an avid outdoorsman who delighted in spending time in God's creation.

Harry will be affectionally remembered for many things. He was quick with a joke and to lend a helping hand. He occasionally had an opinion and always a firm handshake. The only thing he liked more than Tex-Mex was hot sauce, even making his own. Most of all, he deeply loved his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by Linda Gayle Murphree Lindsey, mother of Vicki Klauser Brewer (Hunter) of Collierville, TN; Mandy Phillips, mother of son, Caleb Klauser of Tupelo, MS; and daughter, Jena Klauser of Tupelo, MS. Harry is also survived by his grandchildren, Avery and John Hunter Brewer; and his two brothers, Bill and Kent Klauser and their families.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dr. Chad K. Klauser.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
