Jo Nell Hall

1928 - 2025

Jo Nell Scribner Hall, age 96, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Born on October 27, 1928, to the late Thomas Scribner and Estelle Stovall Scribner, Jo Nell lived a life marked by creativity, compassion, and unwavering faith. She was a 1946 graduate of Plantersville High School. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. Jo Nell was a gifted artist who found joy in sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Her deep Christian faith guided her throughout life, and she faithfully served the Lord as a member of Unity Presbyterian Church. Jo Nell also had a special place in her heart for animals and cherished the companionship of her beloved pets. She will be remembered for her loving nature, artistic soul, and steadfast devotion to family and faith.

She is survived by her son, Robert Harold Hall; two grandchildren, Stephanie Renee' Meriweather and husband, Ben IV, and Robert Kevin Hall; and three great-grandchildren, Hanna Gordon Hill, Ben Kittrell Meriweather V, and Robert Hunter Meriweather.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Harold Hall; daughter, Susan Elaine Hall; and brother, John Lex Scribner.

Visitation will be at 12 p.m. until service time Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Unity Presbyterian Church.

Services honoring Jo Nell's life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Unity Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Armstead officiating. Graveside services will follow at Unity Cemetery. Pegues Funeral Directors are entrusted with the care of her arrangements.
