John Patterson

1935 - 2026

Mr. John Patterson, 90, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Diversicare of Amory. A lifelong resident of Nettleton, he was born October 13, 1935 to John Anderson and Mamie Hester Patterson. He retired form Tombigbee Electric Power Association after 39 years of service. He was a faithful member of Nettleton First Community Church, a past member of the Nettleton Lion's Club and a Mason. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed riding his golf cart, going to the girls softball games and watching Fox News and football games. His greatest joy was visiting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 PM Saturday at Nettleton First Community Church with Rev. Jack Inman and Rev. Chip Frasier officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12:30 until service time Saturday at the church. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Emily Waycaster Patterson; his two sons, John Craig Patterson (Debbie) and Robert H. Patterson (Rhonda); four grandchildren, Jessie Patterson Koon (Joe), Jayla Patterson Cruber (Cameron), Jamie Rose Patterson and Derrik Boland (Jennifer); 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Christopher B. Patterson and Jonathan M. Patterson; one sister, Jonell Patterson Posey.

Pallbearers will be John Gavin Patterson, Ethan C. Patterson, Anderson Reid Patterson, Rob Rogers, Marc Posey, Scott Laney, Ricky Payne and Jody Collier.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Food Pantry in Nettleton.
