David Patterson Obituary

David Paul Patterson of Jamison, Pennsylvania died peacefully at his home on Monday, February 23, 2026. He was 79 years old.

He was the beloved husband of almost 55 years to Mary R. (Scott) Patterson. Their beautiful journey began after meeting at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton, Massachusetts, where they worked in the kitchen and eventually became high school sweethearts.

Born in Brighton, Massachusetts, David was a loving son of the late Frank and Helen (Scully) Patterson. He is the brother of Barbara Ryan and Gerard Patterson.

David graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston in 1965. After high school he proudly served his country in the Navy from 1967 to 1971 as a Personnelman to the Executive Officer on the USS Garcia. During his time in active duty, he earned the National Defense Medal. Following his service to his country, David attended and graduated from Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts with a degree in Business and Marketing.

After graduating from college, David accepted a position over three hundred miles away from his home to Jenkintown, Pennsylvania where he built his 40-year career in various sales roles for SPS Technologies, which was later acquired by Precision Cast Parts, where he earned the title Director of Sales of North America in the aerospace industry.

He was an avid golfer, fisherman, loved admiring sport cars and watching his favorite Boston sports team. David enjoyed his worldwide travel experience with his job and during his time enlisted in the Navy. But his favorite traveling experience was with his wife Mary. They enjoyed their many trips, including their trip to Ireland where they explored and thoroughly researched ancestral locations for both of their families.

But his favorite trips of all were returning to his home state for his annual vacations in Dennis, Massachusetts on Cape Cod with his growing family. David was able to continue to create new memories while fishing and playing golf during the day when not enjoying the beach and family dinners at sunset while watching his beloved Red Sox.

In addition to his wife Mary, David is survived by his loving and devoted children David S. Patterson and his wife Kelly of Doylestown, Brian Patterson and his wife Priscilla of Glenside, Nancy Giordano and her husband Anthony of Philadelphia, and Julie Guest and her husband Thomas of Cherry Hill. He is also survived by his eight cherished grandchildren Eve, Leah, Cayden, Mary, Katherine, Vincent, Brady, and Mallory.

David's family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. until his Funeral Mass 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Road Doylestown, PA 18902. His interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
