Donald Lyons Obituary
He was born in Springfield August 12, 1941 to Cornelius and Florence (Ethier) Lyons, and was a proud Hungry Hill resident for many years. Don is a graduate of Cathedral High School. He was a taxi driver for many years, and as a Yankees and Giants fan, was known to always be watching baseball or football.
Don was preceded by his son Steven M. Lyons, his parents and his 5 siblings. He is survived by his daughter Janet Lyons and his grandchildren Craig Coolbeth; Megan Coolbeth and her husband Corey Guyette.
He will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center.

I haven´t seen Donnie since I was a teenager, but he was always good to us kids. I have a vivid memory of riding in the backseat of his cab while he smoked and sang along with the radio, and another of him making jokes while lighting a fire in the fireplace. And I know there was a part of my Mom that always loved him. She spoke of him often during her illness. The loss of my brother Steven caused a shattering that no one ever found a way to repair, and Donnie´s loss is felt very deeply. May they all find each other again in whatever afterlife there may be.
