IDA CRUMP Obituary
She was born May 4, 1937, in Pontotoc County to the late George and Bertha Vance. She attended school in the Pontotoc System and was a member of the Carter's Chapel Faith Temple Holiness Church. Her greatest passions in life were her Faith in God, her love for her children and grandchildren, and her pride and joy for the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and gospel programs on T.V. and weekly soap programs. She was employed by Mrs. Emily Young, Mrs. Jerry Guess, The Wax Company, and William T. Oakes until her health failed.
She is survived by five sons, John Earl Crump of Frederickburg, VA, Michael Crump, Tracey (Charlotte) Crump, and Eddrick Howard all of Amory, Charles (Esparanza) Crump of Vicksburg, MS; two daughters, Harriette (James) Harvey of Nettleton and Mary Helen (Willie) McNairy of Aberdeen; one brother, Frank Vance of Chicago; one sister, Lillian Powell of Canton, Ohio; twenty-three grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Archie Crump, Jr.; two sons, Ray Charles (Gold) Crump and Raymond Joe Crump; three brothers, William, Calvin, and Bob Vance; and one sister Rennie Amison.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Carter's Chapel with Pastor Elder James O. Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery. Darden and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the final arrangements.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 5:00 p.m. and family hour from 5 to 6:00 p.m. at the Susie L. Darden Memorial Chapel. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to services on Thursday.
