Mary Adcock Obituary

Mary Connor McCullough Adcock passed away shortly after midnight on Saturday morning, surrounded by her loving family. A sixth-generation Mississippian, she was born on July 10, 1959 in Tupelo to Glenn and Lanier Hudson McCullough.

Her absence will be felt greatly by many, from all backgrounds and life experiences. Her thoughtfulness will remain unsurpassed among the world she leaves behind. Each day she strived to be Jesus' hands and feet as a steward in her community, making a profound impact on friends and family she knew for her whole life, or for ten seconds. She overcame many obstacles, established herself as a prominent business leader through several enterprises, and most importantly was a totally devoted mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend. Her place in Heaven is well-earned. She will be dearly missed.

Mary Connor graduated from Tupelo High School in 1977, and attended Mississippi State University, graduating in 1981. She was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.

She held a career in banking in Tupelo and Atlanta, managing numerous branches. Upon returning to Tupelo, she worked at her family's McCullough Steel Products, launched Flowerdale Marketplace, and returned as President and CEO of McCullough Steel until her passing. In addition to her career, she operated several real estate investments.

Through her many years in Tupelo, she was involved in various community and charitable organizations, including Celebration Village, the Joyner Neighborhood Association, the Tupelo Historic Preservation Society, the Tupelo Symphony League, the Master Gardener program and many more.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Long McCullough, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Lanier Hudson McCullough of Tupelo; her siblings Sarah McCullough of Starkville and Glenn L. McCullough Jr. of Tupelo; her husband Wesley Victoria of Tupelo; and her son, Shaw Adcock, of Houston, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Michael Chidester, David Copenhaver, Vance McCullough, Glenn Thomas McCullough, James Moore, and David York.

Honorary pallbearers are the staff of McCullough Steel Products and MTH Plumbing: David Basden , Leo Hamm , Terri Perrin, Lance Randolph, Melissa Robinson, Debbie Turner, and Anthony Witcher.

A visitation will be held 1 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Pegues Tupelo. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Pastor David Ball, Minister Dale Carr and Pastor Kevin Armstrong officiating. Graveside services will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Anchor Church's Transformation Ranch, 278 College St., Verona, MS 38879; The King's Dome Worship Center, 2155 McCullough Blvd., Tupelo,

MS 38804; or Sanctuary Hospice House, PO Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803.
