Over the past 15 years, Maudine and I grew very close, and I will always treasure the many hours we spent on the phone together. Our conversations would bounce from topic to topic-family history, old memories, everyday life-and there was always plenty of laughter along the way. She enriched my knowledge of our family tree and helped me better understand where we came from.
Maudine also had a special gift for listening. She didn´t just hear you-she truly listened and took to heart what you were saying. She deeply loved our family and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed it.
To me, her essence could be summed up in one phrase: "Don´t just talk about it, be about it." She lived that every day through her kindness, her actions, and the way she showed up for the people she loved. I will always be grateful for the time we shared and the memories we made.
