Mike Gattis

1963 - 2023

Michael Lopez "Mike" Gattis, age 60, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at his home. Mike was born February 18, 1963 in Tupelo, the son of Melvin Cortez Gattis and Nona Faye Smith Gattis. He worked for West Rock for many years as a forklift operator. Mike enjoyed fishing and playing poker. He loved watching football with his wife, Lisa, and spending time with their families. His "fur baby" Charlie was a constant companion.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Lisa Gattis of the Spring Hill Community; his sister, Teresa Kitchen and husband Joe, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; sister-in-law, Brenda Tackett; brother-in-law, Billy Stringfield and wife, Kim; nieces and nephews, Chuck Kitchen, April Williams, Christopher Kitchen, Christina Forrester, Heaven Hill, McKenzi Stringfield, and Billy Stsringfield; great-nieces and nephews, Christian, Caleb, Skye, Ace, Alyvia, Brooklyinn, Baleigh, Mykala, Jeremiah, Myriah, Tegan, Addison, Gwen, and Leo.

Services honoring Mike's memory will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with Dr. Gerald Gann officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday at Pegues, Saltillo.

Pallbearers will be Joe Kitchen, Devon Rose, Jeff Williams, Jerry Thrasher, Tommy Adams, and Jeremy Forrester. Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Cates and Billy Stringfield.
