Scott Richey Obituary

Scott Richey, 61, of Senatobia, MS, formerly of Tupelo, passed away February 9, 2024. Scott was a member of First Baptist Church Senatobia and served as a deacon. He worked for 38 years in conservation for the state of Mississippi for USDA-NRCS, with 29 of those years being in charge of carrying out conservation programs in Tate County. Scott loved to squirrel hunt, play golf and spend time with his family, especially his granddaughter.

Scott is survived by his wife, Melissa Richey; sons, Cody Richey of Hernando, MS and Lance Richey of Oxford, MS; parents, Hoyt and Johnnie Richey of Senatobia, MS; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Barbara Filgo of Tupelo, MS; and granddaughter, Oaklyn Richey.

Memorial donations may be sent to First Baptist Church Senatobia. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Senatobia with a memorial service beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Pate-Jones Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hoyt and Mrs.Johnnie I am so sorry for your loss of Scott! I am praying that God wraps his arms around y´all his wife and children and pours the Holy Spirt on you to comfort you ! I will remember you in the future in my prayers for God to be with you!
