Sue Taylor Obituary

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Sue Taylor, a loving and cherished soul, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center. She left behind a legacy of warmth, laughter and unwavering love. Family was everything to Sue - it was her greatest joy and her number one priority. Whether gathered around the dinner table or sharing quiet moments, Sue treasured every second spent with her loved ones.

Sue was a devout Christian and found strength and peace in her faith. She was a dedicated member of Belmont Methodist Church, where she deeply valued her time spent teaching Sunday School and being a part of the church community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joys and challenges. Sue had a passion for life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed shopping and found delight in exploring new recipes and cooking meals that brought everyone together. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and happiness, where stories were shared alongside delicious food.

Her heart belonged to her daughter, Susan, but it especially belonged to her grands, Matt and Conner, who filled her days with pride and joy. More recently, the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Sadie, brought a new light to her life- a bond that brought her endless happiness.

Independent to the end, Sue cherished the freedom of driving, a symbol of her spirited nature and zest of life. In addition to her devotion to family and faith, Sue had a long and fulfilling career in the school system. As a school secretary, she touched the lives of countless students, parents, and faculty members with her kindness and willingness to help. Her impact on the school community was immeasurable and many will forever remember the positive influence she had on their lives.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 27, 11 a.m. at Belmont Methodist Church with Bro. Greg Forbus and Bro. Dan Lauer officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 26, 5-8 p.m. at Belmont Methodist Church. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Susan Caldwell; son-in-law, Darrin Caldwell; grandsons, Matt Caldwell (Hope) and Conner Caldwell (fiance' Simone) and great-granddaughter, Sadie Caldwell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Taylor and her parents, Layton Bullard and Cora Byford Bullard.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Taylor, Robert Cashion, Phillip Cooper, Andy Chumbley, Buddy Wiltshire and Brian Credille. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry McAnally and Tommy Clark.

Sue's warmth, kindness, and love will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege to know her. She will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered.
