Syble Tollison

1922 - 2017

Syble Houston Moore Tollison, 95, passed away Monday, October 09, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born in Prentiss County on August 7, 1922, to Lunceford and Minnie Houston. She was a 1940 graduate of Wheeler High School and a member of Booneville First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Wesley Sunday School Class. Syble was always a happy volunteer at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Visitation and funeral service will be Wednesday October 11, 2017, at the Booneville First Methodist Church starting at 11:00 A.M. and service beginning 1:00 P.M. Rev. George B. Houston, of Dunwoody, GA, will officiate. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Moore Shackelford (Ken) of Booneville and Rita Moore Sanders (Max) of Yazoo City, MS; sisters, Lee H. Barron of Booneville and Carolyn H. Montgomery of Clinton, MS; grandchildren, Jason Shackelford (Amy) of Germantown, TN, Alex Sanders (Beth) of Oxford, MS, Brent Sanders (Courtney) of Covington, LA, and Marti Pasquale (Danny) of Monte Porzio, Italy; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Thomas Moore; her second husband, Grady Franklin Tollison; brothers, Fred L. Houston, R.G. Houston, Harlis Houston, and Herschal Houston; sisters, Myrtle H. Stephens, Earline H. Murdock, Ila H. Wilmoth, and Trecia H. Cartwright.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Houston, Jason Shackelford, Terry Cartwright, Alex Sanders, Ron Stephens, Brent Sanders, Matthew Scott, and David Barron.
