Sylvester Keller Obituary

Sylvester "Eugene" Keller, age 60, of Blue Springs, MS, passed away on October 16, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County. He was born on February 22, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Vester Keller and Rosa Scott Keller. Eugene was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Eugene is survived by his devoted wife, Donnise Thompson Keller, and his children, Embril McCarley (Ricky Kyle), Joshua Williams (Kristen), Corey Whaley (Courtney), and Trey Whaley (Madison). His brother, Mackie Keller, was a constant source of support and camaraderie in his life. Eugene held a special place in his heart for his cherished granddaughter, MarLeigh Williams, and was blessed with the love of 11 additional grandchildren, Brooklynn, Emma, Kylee, Ella, Kamden, Gunner, Braxton, Everleigh, Coltynn, Carter, and Jayce.

Eugene's life was marked by the profound joy he found in the presence of his family. He embraced his role as a husband, father, and grandfather with unwavering love and commitment, leaving a legacy of warmth, laughter, and love in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Elizabeth Keller, as well as his brothers, Bobby and David Keller. Eugene now rests in the company of his loved ones who have gone before him, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who survive him.

Eugene's passions in life were as diverse as they were genuine. He found solace and contentment in the serene act of fishing, and he could often be found by the water's edge, patiently waiting for the perfect catch. His love for Alabama football was a source of excitement, and he cheered for his team with fervor and dedication. Eugene also cherished the simple pleasures of camping, where he could be surrounded by the beauty of nature and the company of his loved ones.

Above all else, Eugene's greatest joy came from being with his beloved grandchildren, whom he adored beyond words. His laughter, guidance, and love have left an indelible mark on their lives, and they will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Eugene was also a member of the Church of Acts in New Albany, MS

Visitation to celebrate Eugene's life will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Associated Family Funeral Home in Tupelo, MS. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Memories at Associated Family Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time with Bro. Charlie Ganey officiating. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Eugene to join them in paying their respects and sharing their memories.

In the twilight of a life well-lived, Sylvester "Eugene" Keller leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. His memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends, as they remember the man who made their lives richer through his presence. Eugene's journey may have come to an end, but his spirit lives on in the love and precious memories he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
