There will never be another doctor so kind and caring as Dr. James. The world lost a great doctor and a great man. He always made his patients feel at ease with his joyful smile and down to earth demeanor. I´ve never seen a man more suited for the medical profession. He had the joy and compassion that are unmatched today in the field. Heaven gained a special angel. Condolences to the family on the anniversary of his passing.

Dr. Boerner was a fine man and great physician!! He delivered all 5 of my 6 girls (17 years of going to him). He was always smiling and never had socks on until he married you, Sydney. Lol. He said, " I recently got married and she doesn't like me not wearing socks!" Then we laughed. I never will forget this man!! Prayers for you and your family! He will be greatly missed.

Dr. Boerner was the first OB/GYN doctor I saw when I moved from New York City. He was very understanding and empathetic to my concerns. Not only did he deliver my now 8 year old daughter but he also delivered my niece 2 years ago. When we saw each other 2 years ago, I was so surprised and glad to see him still in practice. He told me that he was going to sell his practice and maybe retire. Overall, he was the greatest OB/GYN I've ever had and not many ladies out there can ever say that about their doctors. He will be greatly missed for all his dedication and services that he has provided to our community. Rest in Peace and we will meet again!

Dr. Boerner was a fantastic doctor and will be so very missed. He delivered all 3 of my babies and always made everyone feel comfortable in his presence. Reading his obituary made me very emotional but it did show that he left such a remarkable mark on the world. God speed to you Dr. B and I hope you are enjoying heaven as a brand new man as it says in the Bible, with no pain and lots of joy. You'll be missed until we meet again.

I just heard about Jim’s passing today when someone shared it in regards to our upcoming reunion of the Owensboro Senior High class of 1970 of which Jim was our classmate. I also had the good fortune of being with Jim at UK and we were fraternity brothers (SAE). Last time I saw and spoke to Jim was at our 40 year high school reunion. I just read all the 80 previous memories posted by others. What a testimony to the awesome person Jim was. I learned he had delivered over 10,000 babies and that everyone talked of his loving demeanor, encouragement and sincere interest in the well being of all his patients. The people he worked with talked also about what a great person he was and how he respected everyone. This is the same person I knew. He was a true gentleman.

Dear Lord I thank you for the many blessings you have bestowed on each of our families. We praise you and all your glory. I ask that your presence would be felt by Jim’s family and friends I a mighty way as they deal with their loss. Help them cherish the many memories. I also thank you for your gift of eternal salvation for all believers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Rest In Peace my brother. Phi Alpha.

My heart is broken! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Boerner. He was, "The Best." I would see him around Thanksgiving/Christmas each year and he loved telling me about how many people were at his house for the holiday and all the delicious food, Ms. Sydney had prepared. Ms. Sydney, you were the love of his life!! His eyes would light up, when he spoke of you along with that million dollar smile. I always thought he had wings and now I am certain of it. He's up there looking down upon us, seeing ALL the moms and babies he helped bring into this world. God acquired a Beautiful Angel last Friday!!!!

Thank you, Dr. Boerner, for delivering all four of my children (all daughters) beginning in 1985 to 1992. You were the BEST obstetrician of all time. Before my last daughter was born (12-03-92), I always remembered the words you said in your office to me. “‘‘Tis the season to have babies before Christmas.” Went to the old hospital the next day to have my last “little ray of sunshine”. My husband and I will always remember you very fondly. We truly honor your memory. Our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to your family.

I worked with Dr. Boerner for 40 years and he was my GYN for quite a few of those years. Anyone that worked with him was sure to recognize his distinct footsteps coming down the hall followed by a big cheerful smile and a warm greeting.
After every surgery he always said, thank you for your help, I appreciate it!
In the late 80s or early 90s I had a critical gunshot victim brought to the OR. It was in the evening so there was only one crew there. It turned out the victim was a nurse that worked with Dr. Boerner.
Dr. Boerner came to the OR and asked how he could help. He stayed the entire case doing anything I asked and kept the family informed. He was a tremendous help.
Dr. Boerner was compassionate, kind, generous, grateful and humble ; he will be missed.

I'm so sad to hear of Dr. Boerner's passing. The last time I saw him he seemed to be the same old "Dr.B", so full of life, joy, and of course walking with that intent like only he could. There's no doubt this man had a positive impact on so many. He was not only a doctor. He was a friend.

I am praying for his family's comfort during this devastating time. You all have my sincerest condolences.

Dr. Boerner was in my Sunday school class many years ago when I attended First United Methodist, and I decided to use him as my OBGYN. He delivered all three of our children, the oldest of which is now almost 21. I also taught two of his children. Having known Dr. Boerner in these different capacities, I have to say that he was the same person everywhere - kind, friendly, and always with a smile on his face. I am very saddened to hear of his passing and wish to extend my condolences to his family. I know that he will be sorely missed.

He delivered our youngest son and our last baby we will ever have. I can remember being so scared because I had to be rushed to have an emergency c-section and Doctor Boerner being so calm, cool, and collected. He reassured me over and over everything would be perfectly fine and sure enough it was. He was such a kind, patient individual with us as we voiced concerns and asked questions during my whole pregnancy. I want to send our deepest condolences and prayers to his beautiful family during this sad difficult time. I also want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for sharing their brother, husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, friend with the rest of the world. He was a true blessing and joy to so many!

My condolences go out with love to Sydney, whom I know was a wonderful loving wife and confidant for Jim. My deepest condolences to his children Jennifer, Ben, Lissa and Emma. Jim was a close, long lasting friend of my former husband, John Byrnes. He has always been a man I have highly respected as a friend and physician. He was a man of great integrity, knowledge and intelligence. But it was always his kindness and warmth, that stood out. He deeply cared for his patients, and took great pride in his work in medicine. He delivered both of our children with great care. His ability and reassurance that everything would be ok and that I would do fine, was calming and nurturing. If you saw Jim Boerner, he would always greet you with a smile, and that was his character. His presence in the community will be greatly missed.

Dr. Boerner was the most caring & compassionate doctor that I have ever had. He delivered my baby 36 years ago & although I had problems, he got me through to deliver a premature baby but he helped me to get as far as I could so my baby wouldn't be born with a lot of problems. That baby is now 36 years old & has always flourished. After that, all down through the years, he was such a kind dr., always had time to talk to me about anything. I was already missing him due to his retirement. Rest in Peace Dr. Boerner.

This breaks my heart. I went to Dr. Boerner, as a first time mom, so scared and nervous, having heard great things about him. He helped me so much and was so caring and attentive. I was so nervous constantly and he never made me feel like my questions or worries were invalid. He always reassured me everything was fine, even going the extra mile by proving it to me on the ultrasound he done himself. He was so kind and attentive during my delivery. I had a baby with colic and he said bring her to see me and he showed me what to do to help her stop crying. Afterwards, when he would see me, he knew who I was. I will never forget his kindness. He is by far the best doctor I have ever met. Sincerest condolences and prayers for his family.

If there is a book, a medical book that is, that specialized in humanism, grace, tenderness, and every other adjective to describe bedside manners and what a physician should be, it would surely show Dr. Boerner’s picture!! He went above and beyond in all aspects of a physician. He delivered my son Nick. It was a difficult pregnancy!! He would have delivered my daughter as well but our insurance changed and I had to move to another facility!! My heart breaks for sweet Sydney as well as the whole family!!! Dr. Boerner was a true humanitarian as well as Sydney!!!! Prayers and sympathy at this most difficult time!!!!!

Dr. Boerner, Was a great doctor and not only that he was a wonderful friend. He was my ob/gyn for years. He birthed my first grandson. He was my Hero, for saving my life, when he found my cancer. By him being on things he found it . If not for him it would have gone undetected. He put me in the hands of what he called the best at Sarah Cannon Cancer Center. I had surgery, caught it early, that was 6 years ago. So, Dr, Boerner you will be greatly missed by many, who you was a hero to. I'm so greatful to you and i'm so sorry you are no longer with us. May peace be with your family and ya'll are in my prayers.

He delivered all my children and my sisters children. We all loved him like a part of our family !! I was 13 when I had my son in '87 and I was scared to death ..he made all the diff in the world in the way he treated me and cared. My 3rd child I then had my tubes tied and sev mos later was pregnant again ha...their father was upset and had went to my Dr visit and made a comment of how we was still making payments on the last one ....Dr Boerner showed the evidence of how the procedure had been done correctly and smiled and said "Blessings come as a surprise sometimes and this ones on me ...ill take care of it" ...A Freebie. Ha ... God bless this man for the diff he made in so many lives . Rest in Peace , we love you Dr. Boerner.

Dr. Boerner has meant so much to our family. He was my doctor for 35 years. He helped us through conceiving complications throughout the years. When we finally received Jake it was on Dr. Boerner's birthday. We have celebrated that day with him in our hearts every year since. He was often times a counselor through difficult times. He was always in sunnyside mode. I know he loved all and wanted the best for everyone whose life he touched. He will be missed greatly by so many. I treasure the last time I saw him because in the midst of COVID he hugged me goodbye/see you later. And was so optimistic about the future. Our family has been blessed that he has been a part of our lives for so many years. I pray you are in peace and I am pretty sure you are cruising the skies at this very moment. Love Rod, Christy, and Jake Phillips

Dr. Boerner delivered my 5 kids and was the best doctor anyone could ask for. He was so thoughtful and really cared about his patients. I was lucky to be one of the last ones he delivered for before he retired. He even delivered me! I really hate to hear this about such a great man. He told us (his patients) he had found out he had cancer and was going to fight it and retire to live the rest of his life with his family. May god be with his family at this time.
