John "Jack" Adrian

John "Jack" Adrian of Murfreesboro, passed away on December 9, 2015. He moved from Kingsport in 2014 to be closer to his family. He was born on August 12, 1921 in Taunton, Massachusetts to John and Marjorie Lewis Adrian. The family moved to Stanford, Connecticut where he attended school. Jack graduated from Lehigh University and enlisted with the USMC in 1942. He served in the Pacific Theatre and retired from the active reserves in 1958.

Jack was a marketing manager for the plastics division of Eastman Chemical Products Incorporated in Kingsport until he retired in 1986. Jack enjoyed golf, gardening and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kingsport. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Eleanor (Sue) Adrian; children, Judith (Dan) Camie of Boise, ID, Jami (Richard) Whitelaw of Hailey, ID, Jeff (Cathy) Adrian of Murfreesboro; sister, Marilyn Smith of The Villages, Florida; daughter-in-law, Rita Adrian of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jonathan Chitwood, John Adrian III, Jason Adrian, James Adrian Jr., Morgan Camie, Jordan Camie, Reno Christino, Blake Adrian, Hunter Dickson, Sasha Adrian, Clark Adrian, Keegan Whitelaw and Remy Adrian; and great-grandchildren, John IV, Caleb, Victor and Jett.

His parents and two sons, John Adrian Jr. and James Bradshaw Adrian as well as his brother, Lewis K. Adrian preceded him in death.

Service will be private at a later date. John will be buried at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of the Tennessee State Veterans Home for their kindness and caring of Jack.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to charity of your choice.
