Keith Jonas Obituary
Keith Jonas, age 58 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away at NHC of Murfreesboro on Sunday, August 7, 2011 from complications of heart disease and diabetes.
Mr. Jonas is preceded in death by his son, Jason Jonas; brother, Roy Jonas, Russell Jonas and Scott Jonas, and his beloved father, Edward Victor Jonas.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Jonas; parents-in-law, Charlie and Frankie Short; two daughters, Lynsey (Joe) Tillery of Nevada and Sarah (Brent) Nelson of Utah; grandchildren, Sam Nelson, Lauryn and Kera Tillery, and step-grandchildren, Brian and Makayla Nelson; cousins, Craig and Brenda Belzer.
After serving two tours of duty in Vietnam, Keith was a guitar player and songwriter in the rock and roll music industry for seventeen years. He later drove for Pyles Transport in Nashville. Keith enjoyed volunteering at Rockvale Elementary School, teaching poetry/writing classes, and helping at the Special Olympics, as well as many other school functions.
He was a loving husband and true friend who never met a stranger, and always had a smile and a story to tell. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, neighbors and beloved pets, Durango, Teacup, Binx and Dakota.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. Life Celebration service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro, with Bob Bush officiating. Family and dear friends will serve as Pallbearers.
