Lynda Paschal Obituary

Lynda Paschal

Murfreesboro - Lynda Lane Paschal born Jan 6, 1942 in Murfreesboro, TN passed away on Jan 2, 2021 in Knoxville, TN. Lynda was a member of the 1959 Murfreesboro Central High School Class and afterward she obtained her undergraduate degree from MTSU. She then married the love of her life, Glen Paschal a Cannon, TN native, and they eventually relocated to Hixson, TN. After raising 4 children, she pursued her Library Science graduate degree and was a media specialist at Falling Water, Thrasher, and Nolan elementary schools, all in Chattanooga, TN. She was fortunate to meet so many loving educators and she was always inspired by her inquisitive students and the kindness of her fellow educators. She had a "larger than life personality" and never met a stranger. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and playing Rook with her grandchildren. Lynda remained active her entire life as an avid tennis player, yoga practitioner, and had even hit a few golf balls of late. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's, she fought hard, and even participated in medical trials to further the understanding of the disease. She continued to take on new endeavors such as beginning to learn to play the piano in her most recent years. Lynda never met a stranger. As an avid reader, Lynda also researched her Murfreesboro roots, with special fondness for the Rutherford County TN Historical Society. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Lynda is survived by her husband Glen, children, Missy (Tim) Noe, Alesya, Gray (Becky) and Lane Paschal, three grandchildren, Caleb, Grayson, and Bella, brothers, Avent (Marlene) and Scotty (Pook) Lane, sisters-in-law Dot Reed, Helen Paschal, Chris Strong, and Peggy Lane, and nieces and nephews, Mike Reed, Jenny Adams, Andy Lane, Lori Gran, Kurt Lane, Tenna Gaither, Pam Brown, Terry Wimberly, Mathew Lane, Molly Mark, Shelby, Spencer, and Stephan Lane. She is preceded in death by her loving parents Avent "Boot" and Eunice Norris Lane, her brothers Floyd and Buster, in-laws Clarence and Rachel Nichols Paschal, and brother-in-law Dan Paschal.

Due to restrictions, services will be held in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Imagination Library to help extend the love of reading to more children or performing an act of kindness. In the future a celebration of life will occur.
