BEVERLY PROTHE HELIN Beverly Prothe Helin of Paola, KS passed away on June 6, 2024. Visitation will be held on June 11, 2024, at 10:00 am. Funeral Service will follow starting at 11:00 am, both being held at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. She was born on August 19, 1943, to Ed and Manda Prothe of Block, KS. After graduating from Paola High School in 1961, she worked in Kansas City for 1 and a half years at Hallmark and Federal Reserve Bank before enrolling in cosmetology in Pittsburg, KS. She then worked through college at PSU as a hairdresser and taught cosmetology for 34 years in Dodge City, KS. She married Gary Helin in 1969 in Garden City, KS. They had one child, Tara Rae and would later divorce. After retirement, she moved to Tulsa with her daughter. In 2004, she moved back to Miami County. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Lorene (Arnold Debrick) of Paola, and her daughter Tara of Louisburg. Beverly is survived by her brother Vernon (Donna) Prothe of Paola, sister Shirley Warden of Lawrence, and her nieces and nephews.
