Jerry Watkins Obituary
Ensign - Jerry Wayne Watkins Jr., died Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Ensign, Kansas.
He was born on December 3, 1992 the son of Jerry Watkins Sr. and Lisa Benson at Dodge City, Kansas. Jerry loved working on old trucks, buying and selling cars, riding his Harley and especially spending time with his little brother. He worked at Broce Broom as a welder in Dodge City, Kansas.
Survivors include: his father, Jerry Watkins Sr., Ensign, Kansas; his mother, Lisa Benson, Salina, Kansas; his daughter, Breanna Lopez, Salina, Kansas; step-mother, Debi Briseno-White, Ensign, Kansas; 3 sisters, Ashlie Benson and husband Justin, Skyla Benson, and Jessica Watkins all of Salina, Kansas; two brothers, Maxwell Watkins, Ensign, Kansas and Jordon Allen, Salina, Kansas; grandmother, Judith Benson, Salina, Kansas; step-sister, Natalia Briseno, Ensign, Kansas; step-brother, Sebastian Thomas, Wichita, Kansas; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Larry and Connie Watkins, and grandfather, David Benson.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10:00 am at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Jeff Hiers officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, Kansas. The casket will remain closed. Burial will follow at Ensign Cemetery in Ensign, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials to the Jerry Watkins Jr. Memorial Fund in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801. Condolences may be sent to www.zieglerfuneralchapel.com.

I never had the privilege of knowing Jerry, but I knew & cherished his Grandmother Connie. My Mother Barbara was her older sister & I counted her as a favorite Aunt. She was always there for me, no matter what mischief I had brought about, which turned out to be often... I keep all of those who knew & loved Jerry in my prayers. Wish you peace & know that he is in a much better place & space, my dear Aunt Connie will watch over him just as she did me
