Joe Lacy Obituary

CIMARRON – Joe David Lacy, 61, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Anthony Hospital, Lakewood, Colorado. He was born October 4, 1956 at Dodge City, Kansas the son of Keith Willis and Dorothy (Whitmer) Lacy. He worked for Buffalo Mill Supply Industrial Hose Specialists. Joe loved to be around people and was always there to help anyone in need with his talents. He loved to share his laughter with others, leather work, team roping and traveling. Joe loved his children, grandchildren and extended family.
He was very proud of his family and always let them know he was. His favorite time of the year was the Family reunions and most of all he loved to spend all his time with his best friend, his wife Margaret. On December 22, 1989 he married Margaret Schwartz at Ashland, Kansas.
Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Lacy, Garden City, Kansas; 3 sons, Shad Lacy, Ft. Collins, Colorado, Josh Lacy, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Josiah Lacy and wife Kelly, Gothenburg, Nebraska; daughter, Cheyenne Jeffers and husband Cody, Hayes Center, Nebraska; 5 brothers, Jim Lacy and wife Janet, Amarillo, Texas, Keith Lacy Jr. and wife Jan, Ft. Collins, Colorado, Casey Lacy and wife Kay, Ft. Garland, Colorado, Jack Lacy and wife Kristi, Garber, Oklahoma, and Kelly Lacy and wife Susan, Eaton, Colorado; 3 sisters, Kyleen Lacy, Cimarron, Kansas, Lee Ayers and husband Don, Sharon Springs, Kansas, and Lori Lacy, Cimarron, Kansas; 14 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Tristan Lacy, nephew, James Lacy Jr., and uncle, Kyle Lacy. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Gray County Rec Center, Cimarron, Kansas with Stacy Lacy and Lance Lacy officiating. Scattering of cremated remains will take place at the Team Roping arena next to the Rec Center. Book signing will be Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron. The family suggests donations to the Gray County Rec Center in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 446 Cimarron, Kansas 67835. Condolences may be left at www.zieglerfuneralchapel.com.
