He was a close Ham Radio friend. I'm glad I was able to visit him on 18 Sept. while in Dodge City for my 60th High School Reunion.

Remembering Mike during recess time at Pleasant View playing "Cops and Robbers", and driving a hearse hauling band equipment later when we were teenagers.
You were a great person and a great cousin. Thank you for the memories.

Mike Burkhart was a stand up guy, tireless volunteer and good citizen. I had the privilege of learning much from Mike throughout the many years he served as a communications and fatality management expert on the Southwest Hospital Emergency Response Team (SHERT) as well as Statewide Healthcare Coalition Steering Committee. A faithful servant whose absence is and will continue to be felt for a long time.

Mike was an Amateur Radio Operator, and regularly made contact with other Dodge City Amateurs than had moved to other areas. He will be missed on the "air waves", but always remembered as his call sign KU0L, and is now a "SK" or Silent Key.

Mike has always been a person who enjoyed people. He is a good organizer, businessman, car enthusiast, and friend. I found him to have something of genuine interest to contribute every time we met. He will be missed.
