Paul Herder Obituary

DODGE CITY – Paul G. Herder, 70 died, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at his home in Dodge City, Kansas.
He was born on April 7, 1951 the son of George and Mary (Brokaw) Herder in Somerville, New Jersey. He served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1990 retiring as a Master Sergeant. After retiring he worked as a computer technician for different companies as well as helping his family with their technological difficulties. He was a member of the Newton Area Radio Control Club, and the Santa Fe Trail Sportsman's Club, Dodge City. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family especially the nieces and nephews. He was very gifted in the fact that he could build anything mechanical.
On June 14, 1974 he married Sandra Jones at Wichita, Kansas. She survives.
Survivors also include: his sister, Susan Brokaw, Manchester Township, New Jersey; and his uncle, Ray Brokaw, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Runyon and George Herder, his grandparents, Florence and Horace Brokaw.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, April 17, 2021 at St. Cornelius Episcopal Church, Dodge City, with Fr. JJ Bernal presiding. Following the service full military honors will be presented by the American Legion District 8 and the United States Air Force. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Friends and family may sign the register on Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
The family suggests memorials to the Caring Hands Humane Society, Newton, Kansas in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801. Condolences may be sent to www.zieglerfuneralchapel.com.
