Rosanna Allen Obituary

Rosanna Phillips Allen May 20, 1923 April 18, 2014 Rosanna Phillips Allen, passed away, April 18, 2014. She was born May 20, 1923, a daughter of Oliver and Flora Phillips in Jamestown, Ohio. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Wilmington College in 1945, and a Masters of Library Science from Columbia University. She worked for Dupont Corporation, Rockefeller Foundation, Cornell University spending 18 months in Liberia, Africa working for USAID and retired from Penn State University as head of their Research Library in 1988. In 1984, she received the Libraries Award from Penn State University. She is survived by nephew, Charles Sheridan, deceased, (Jackie); nieces, Rosemary Bradford (Robert); Elizabeth Westray (R. Cal); Cathy Dietrich (John, deceased); Virginia Stan; 10 great nieces and nephews; and eight great-great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Wilmington College, Advancement Office, Pyle Center, 1870 Quaker Way, Box 1307, Wilmington, Oh 45177 or Sight Loss Support Group of Central PA, 111 Sowers Street, State College, PA 16801.
