Thomas Edmund Patterson, 88, died July 9, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born on November 5, 1936, in Dodge City, to Ray Thomas and Julia Lucy (Batt) Patterson. Tom worked in janitorial services for many years for Baker's Cleaning Service in Dodge City, and Gibson's. He liked to play basketball and bowled for the Special Olympics and was part of the Reach Program. Tom enjoyed playing card games, especially Skip-Bo, and eating his favorite meals. He spent time watching old westerns and gameshows. Tom's greatest joy was being around his family and spending quality time with his loved ones. He had strong faith and a passion for the Lord, Tom was a member at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. He is survived by: sister, Edna Ricker; caregiver and nephew, Donnie Sharp, both of Hutchinson; sister-in-law Jean Patterson, Guymon, OK, brother-in-law Don Sharp, Soddy Daisy, TN; and 26 loving nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by: his parents; siblings, Margaret and Bob Preisser, Luella and Harold Vogel, Bob Patterson, Marvin Patterson, Dorothy and Marv Tully, Donald "Don" and Norma Patterson, Rose "Rita" and Frank Horton, Dale Ricker, Carol Sharp; and seven nieces and nephews. Rosary will be 6 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson; Visitation will follow the rosary from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, in Maple Grove Cemetery, 1100 Matt Down Ln, Dodge City. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary. Click here to view the Rosary for Mr. Patterson. Memorials are suggested to Hospice House of Reno County and TECH Inc.
