James Longley Obituary
James Allen Longley, 77 years, of Sturgeon Bay, died early Monday morning (February 3, 2014) at Ministry- Door County Medical Center ICU.
He was born June 14, 1936 in Ephraim, the son of the late Alviaze Thomas Longley and Mildred Josephine (Jepson) Longley. On September 8, 1955 he married Carol Ann Hammond in Marshall, Texas. Jim worked 21 years in the Dairy Industry. He worked at Plecks Dairy and then with Morning Glory on route delivery. Following his work in the dairy industry, Jim put himself through business school and received his associate's degree in accounting which allowed him to work for Sturgeon Bay Iron and Metal where he managed operations for 18 years until his retirement.
Jim was a member of Door County Maritime Museum. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, golfing, camping, hunting, and following NFL football. Jim really loved family gatherings and sharing meals together.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; four children, Corinne (David) Stephany of Green Bay, Robin Longley, Vicki (John) Fredrickson, Glenn (Susan Wells) Longley all of Sturgeon Bay; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; ten siblings, Jeane Moreno of Lakewood, CA, Sharon (John) Kelner, Janet Gaethke, Gary Fictum, all of Sturgeon Bay; Richard (Mary) Longley, Linda (Fred) Janus, Chuck (Beth) Longley all of Green Bay; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Ival) Smith of Chetek, Donita James of New Aubern, WI; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; Alviaze and Mildred Longley; sister, Susan Ricco; and brother, George Longley.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday (February 6, 2014) at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with a service of remembrance following at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Blossomburg Cemetery, Fish Creek at Peninsula State Park grounds.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given in his memory % Carol Longley, 710 N. 6th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235, for a gift to Peninsula State Park.

Our family is so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. He was a most loyal and true employee to Jack and Lee. His thoughtfulness in their final years will never be forgotten. God bless.

So sad about Jim's passing. He was a tremendous friend to our family and such a skilled manager. And a fine, fine human being. He continued to keep in touch with Lee until she died which was so appreciated. Rest in peace, Jim.
