Mr. Albert Watford, age 90, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, July 3, 2017 at SAMC following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with military honors and Kendall Glover directing. The family will receive friends at Glover Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL, 36301. Mr. Watford was born in Houston County, AL to the late Dewey and Johnnie Johnson Watford. He was a graduate of Ashford High School. Mr. Watford retired from Southeast Alabama Gas District and had previously been employed at Dothan Hosiery for several years. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and Woodman of the World. Mr. Watford was a U. S. Navy and WWII veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Minnie Whatley Watford, a son William Lamar Watford, a son-in-law Waymon Cureton, a granddaughter Judy Ann Cureton, great granddaughter Leslie Rochelle Cureton, a brother Jerry Watford and three sisters Velma Nowell, Voncille Blakey and Annie Smith. Survivors include: a son Danny Wilson (Lora) Watford of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; a daughter Sharon Cureton of Cottonwood; three grandchildren Christopher Cureton of Mobile, Jennifer Watford of Pensacola, FL and Steve (Renee) Watford of Navarre, FL; four great-grandchildren Olivia Lee Cureton and Christian Adrianna Cureton of Dothan, Elija Watford and Ezra Watford of Navarre, FL; two brothers John (Marsha) Watford of Cowarts and Gene (Shirley) Watford of Dothan; a daughter-in-law Sharon Watford of Cottonwood; a brother-in-law Corky Nowell of Cowarts and a sister-in-law Rose Watford of Cowarts. Pallbearers will be Clay Lewis, Jay Lewis, Matthew Lewis, James Harrison, Cody Lewis, Randall Watson and Billy Smith. Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
