Berta O'Reilly Obituary

Mrs. Berta Emma O'Reilly, age 83, of Ozark died Thursday morning, Sept. 25, 2008, in Dale Medical Center.

Funeral services will be graveside at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Charles Littlefield officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Mrs. O'Reilly was born April 7, 1925, in Germany to the late Franz and Magdalena Merz Weber. She married her late husband, Myles Francis O'Reilly Jr., following his service in World War II. They lived in various places while he continued his military service. Mrs. O'Reilly worked with Hays International at Napier Field as an aircraft electrician and then at Fort Rucker with janitorial services. She was a member of Faith Christian Center in Ozark. Mrs. O'Reilly enjoyed the fellowship of her many local friends of German ancestry.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Freidel and Gretchen; and her brother, George.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Myles F. and Nancy O'Reilly of Chicago, Ill., Earl O'Reilly of Ozark; one stepdaughter, Mary Zogopoulos of Manchester, N.H.; and one brother, Franz Weber of Germany.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Faith Christian Center, 853 Lakeview Drive, Ozark, Alabama 36360.

Earl and family,

Your mother was one of my favorite people. Always had a smile and something funny said to tease me with. She was a pleasure to have known. She will be missed. Know that she will always be with you in your heart.
