Brandy King Obituary
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Trail officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday. The family request in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to a scholarship fund for Emma and Sue Ellen King at any Regions Bank.
Brandy was born Nov. 20, 1973, in Houston County and lived most of his life in Newton. He was a graduate of Dale County High School. After graduation he was involved in the family's transportation business. Brandy was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed playing golf, and riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Hard Labor Hunting Club in Pigeon Creek. Brandy loved his family, especially his girls. He was of the Methodist faith.
Brandy is preceded in death by an uncle, Eric King, and grandfather, Roy Curry.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Jackson King, of Dothan; two daughters, Emma Shane King and Sue Ellen King, also of Dothan; parents, Tommy and Carla King of Newton, Rob and Lydia Jagger of New Carlisle, Ind.; one sister, Kristee Dowling and her husband, Will, of Dothan; and a niece, Lydia Dowling; two half brothers, Chris King and Josh King; and a half sister, Jada King.
Serving as pallbearers will be Fred Blackwell, Charles Gallion, Eddie Donaldson, Jr., Adrian Andrews, Chad Caine and Lee Kent.

Words can no express how sorry I am for your loss. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. I must say I was very shocked to here of your loss. The first thing I did was turn to the Bible and read. I found a scripture I would like to share with you. Numbers 6:4-6 "May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make his face to shine upon you, may the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you PEACE." The world has lost a very special person and the ones closest to him will be filled with grief. I pray for each of you daily and hope that you find peace with this sad loss. To the entire family:
Brandy touched my family's life some 15-20 years ago. He dated my younger sister for about 3 years. He helped teach my oldest daughter to walk. She is now a Senior at WHS. Although much time has passed, he is still a very vivid part of our memories. He and my sister went their seperate ways and each had their own families eventually. Brandy is still special because of the good memories from those years.
I now teach at Wicksburg High School. In fact, I teach Josh English/Literature. It saddens me deeply to think of the void this family will feel. I will continue to pray for the family. Brandy was a joy to be around.
