Brittany Rose James, a resident of Headland, died Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017, of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident which occurred in Dale County in Dothan. She was 27. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 25, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Randy Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in the New Park Cemetery in Fort Gaines, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital of Alabama, 1600 7th Avenue, South, Birmingham, AL 35233. Brittany James was a native of Fort Gaines, Georgia. She was a 2008 graduate of Abbeville Christian Academy and attended Wallace Community College. At an early age, Brittany began a career in modeling and was featured in Seventeen and Cosmo Girl Magazines and also modeled for Kohl's Department Store. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Wright Wilkins, Rose Gordon Wilkins and Leonard James. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Kandalyn Faith James and Kylen Rose James; her mother, Traci Wilkins, Headland; and her father, Clint James, Blakely, GA; two brothers, A1C (U.S.A.F.) Kyle James, and Kohl James, both of Headland; a sister, Angel Necole James, Blakely, GA; her grandmother, Thelma James, Blakely, GA; two nephews, Brayden James and Kaden James; an aunt, Debbie James.
