CECIL CULBRETH Obituary

Cecil Allen Culbreth Cecil Allen Culbreth, a resident of Columbia, Alabama, died Tuesday morning, May 10, 2011, at the home of a son, Mark Culbreth, in Olive Branch, Mississippi. He was 76. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 12, 2011, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church, near Columbia, with Reverend Don Tew officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the sanctuary of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to A & E Hospice, 6810 Crumpler Blvd., Suite 101, Olive Branch, MS 38654-1934. Mr. Culbreth was born and reared in Houston County, Alabama, near Columbia, son of the late Charlie Henry Culbreth and Lucille Savelle Culbreth. He was a graduate of the Houston County High School in Columbia and later served his country in the Army National Guard in Alabama and Tennessee. Mr. Culbreth lived in Memphis, TN most of his adult lifetime before returning to Columbia in 2007. He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and was retired as a piano technician in Memphis. Mr. Culbreth was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil Culbreth and Marvette Culbreth. Surviving relatives include his wife, Joyce Dawson Culbreth, Columbia, AL; a daughter, Deidra Culbreth Motherwell and husband, Scott, Olive Branch, MS; two sons, Mark Culbreth, Olive Branch, MS and Victor Culbreth, Memphis; two grandchildren, Kristin Gutierrez and husband, Raul, and Ashley Culbreth; a great-grandson, Dalton Swain; a sister, Elouise Klages and husband, David, Odessa, MN; a brother, Harry Truman Culbreth and wife, Anna, Redmond, WA; a sister-in-law, Dot Culbreth, Columbia, AL Holman-Headland Mortuary, (334) 693-3371, www.holmanmortuaries.com is in charge of arrangements. Dear Joyce, Mark, Victor & Deidre,
