Charles M. Newbury Charles M. Newbury, 77, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at St. Columba Catholic Church Chapel with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities or Gentiva Hospice or flowers will be accepted. Mr. Newbury was born March 29, 1936 in Bronx, New York and retired from the Panama Canal Zone as Chief of Community Services in 1979. He was a resident of Dothan for 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Emily J. Newbury of Dothan; three children; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
