To the Barnes family, I thank you. I thank you for allowing so many to experience the joy Chasity brought and still brings. We
laughed so much together. She had a natural ability to make others feel proud about themselves even in rough times. Oh, how I will miss seeing her, hearing her, and hugging her. I thank God for her spirit...yes the SPIRIT...somethings live on forever. God Bless.

When Chasity came to Ashford High School we hit it off first thing in 9th Grade English class. We had a great friendship that lasted beyond high school as so many friends don't. I have since moved away but always made time to call and visit Chasity whenever I was home. She always made time to call and say "Hey honey just checking on you" I loved her and she will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are truly with your family at this time.

I remember Chasity during our trip to NYC a few years back. It was the all girls weekend and we had so much fun. Chasity was a very bright and beautiful girl with a very kind and giving heart. I am so hurt by this news when I heard that even to this day I still just cannot believe it has happened. Family please keep your head up, she is in a better place now and no longer suffering any pains. Her wings will always be with me even as I sit her now at my desk crying because I don't understand why he took her so soon. I will miss you Chasity, I love you. To Your Sister Chasity
She was taken from you so suddenly
This we'll never understand
How you wish to see her face, or touch her hand again.
We'll never know the reason why she was taken in this way
but we do know that we will see her where she is someday
We know that she is with you, all the time, in fact
And we know how desperately you want her back
Of all the treasures you will have,
it’s the memories of Chasity that you will treasure most
Always remember, Chasity is just a thought away!
You all are in my prayers!

Chasity was the sweetest and most genuine person I have ever met. We met during our freshman year at Troy and remained good friends after graduation and beyond. She always had such a sweet spirit about her. As kind-hearted as she was, she was also strong and stood firm in her values and beliefs. Chasity was a light - her actions and words reflected her giving heart. Not only was she a dear friend but a sister in Christ. Chasity's outlook on life was living it to the fullest, which she did. Chasity will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family - she was one in a million.

I wanted to extend my thoughts, prayers and symparthy to family & friends. I recall Chasity's beautiful smile, outgoing personality, care and concern for all with whom she came in contact. I know she was in the graduating class with my niece, Jennifer (Rozzelle) Fortson and heard many kind words spoken of her. More personally, I knew her as a fellow coworker of SAMC. My heart reaches out to you in your grief but truly God has chosen a special young lady to one of His select angels.

To the Barnes Family, I would like to express my condolences to you for I know how painful this is for all of you. Chasity was a remarkable woman. She always lived a life of dignity. I met Chasity my freshman year at Troy and we shared the same major, therefore we took most (if not all) of our classes together. We immediately grew very close. She was such a warm and caring person that you couldn't help but feel close to her. After college, my husband and I had the honor of having her at our wedding, a gathering at our home and she shared her presence with us at our daughter's christening. I can still see her now asking me if she could take a plate home because she wasn't trying to cook! :-) She was always the same. She was never the kind of friend that would change on you or drift away from you and her smile was worth a million dollars! I thank you Mr. and Mrs. Barnes for raising such an extraordinary young lady who I will never forget. My prayers are with you and know that if there's anything we can do, please do not hesitate to ask.

I started school at Ashford High my senior year, 1999...also Chasity's senior year. Even then, Chasity was one of the sweetest people that I knew, very welcoming and kindhearted. After high school, she and I both attended Troy State at the same time, and then, coincidentally, ended up working at SAMC together, also. Still, she was one of the kindest people around...always smiling and cheerful with something positive to say. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, and please know that she will be missed greatly!

To the Barnes family we are all living according to the plan that GOD has constructed for each and every one of us on this earth. I loved Chasity with all my heart...she was truly a blessing from god. Now she can enjoy her time with him like she wanted. That was her dream and now she has conquered it...as much as im saddened and hurt, I know she is with the one who will take care of her and no more pain will come her way. I love you and always will. You were a true role model for the world to see,a walking angel. And for me to have communicated with her the other day when I checked on her...breaks my heart!!!She seemed ok and happy, but now she is with our father above and I know she is truly happy. Love you always and forever Chasity.....your 1st Cousin

Chasity,
When I worked in the Dothan market, we immediately clicked. Your spirit, your presence, and your walk with Christ only deepened my respect and admiration for you. Believe it or not, Troy's Homecoming was the first REAL Homecoming I had ever gone to! My college didn't have a football team :). So thank you for the great times we shared -- thank you for being a true friend, and thank you for being that ear when I needed it most!
To Chasity's family, my deepest sympathy is poured out to you. Words can not express how my heart aches for Chasity and for your loss. But through this very difficult time may you find solace in knowing she is now in God's loving arms. May God’s grace and peace be with you always!

I am still trying to understand why but I guess you shouldn't ask why. I am so sadden and so depressed about this and I will always remember Chasity and those great moments at Troy State. I remember meeting her and Chrystal in 1999. I was 2 years ahead of them as a transfer student and Chasity was a freshman. I remember meeting her in the cafeteria on campus and we had been friends ever since. And being in the same journalism program. I remember always seeing her at homecoming and how she loved being around her friends. And she never changed in the 10 years I have known her she was always sweet and good and always had a smile on her face. She loved life and loved traveling and seeing new things. I also remember that she was a TRUE faithful believer and servant of Jesus Christ. I am praying for her and her family in this time of grief its hard to believe that she is gone at 27 years old. None of us know the time or the place when its our time. And we all must understand that she is in the hands of the lord with no suffering, no pain, no dramma, no bills, and no sin and I just thank GOD and his loving son Jesus Christ that she is with them in heaven forever.
I love you Chasity, you touched so many lives.
