Chief Weathington Obituary

Chief Master Sergeant (Ret) Billy Weathington passed away at home after a prolonged illness on January 1, 2018. He was 87. Born and raised in Newville, AL the 9th of 10 siblings to William and Esthma Weathington. In 1950 he married the love of his life, Christine Lowman of Abbeville, Alabama. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on December 4th. Mr. Weathington had a distinguished 27-year career as an Air Force Security Policeman. In 1976, he culminated his active duty career as the senior enlisted advisor for the USAF Security Police. He continued his service to the country as the Director of Security Plans and Acquisitions for the AF; retiring in 1990 after 40 years of combined service. Surviving Mr. Weathington are his wife Christine, two sons Chris Weathington (Gwen) and Danny Weathington (Shirley) of Newville, AL; and their daughter Julie Littman (Robert) of Naples, FL. He was also blessed with 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Weathington's memorial service will be held at the Union Springs Baptist Church in Newville, AL on Saturday January 13th, 2018 at 1 PM. After the service the family will have a reception in the fellowship hall. His remains will be interred in Arlington Cemetery, Washington DC, at another date. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Kindred Hospice of Dothan or Union Springs Baptist Church cemetery fund in Newville.
