Daniel Hatfield Obituary

Daniel Hatfield, age 71, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Sunday February 17, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Hatfield was born on July 27, 1947 in Eufaula, Alabama the son of the late Oscar and Erline Baxley Hatfield. He was a timber harvester, a member of the Army National Guard and a member of Covenant Church, Douglas, GA. Survivors include his wife, Jan Vickers Hatfield of Douglas, GA; four daughters, Leslie Morgan (Jeff) of Auburntown, TN, Jenny Blonk (Jon) of New York, NY, Amy Faulkenberry (Brian) of Greenville, S.C. and Suzanne Yeomans (Brandon) of Blackshear, GA; two sons, Brad Mercer (Samantha) of Valdosta, GA and Chad Mercer (Keria) of Douglas, GA; ten grandchildren, Chad Goad, Kayla Simpson, Sam Faulkenberry, Ollie Faulkenberry, Brock Yeomans, Andon Yeomans, Jackson Mercer, Ethan Mercer, Conner Mercer and Klair Mercer; four great grandchildren, Lyla Simpson, Layton Simpson, Rowan Goad and Ruby Goad; two brothers, Phil Hatfield of Eufaula, AL and Tracy Hatfield of Arlington, GA; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 2:00p.m. at Covenant Church with Rev. Gregory Pope officiating and Chad Goad and Charles Stapleton will bring the eulogy. The family received friends Tuesday from 1pm until 2pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Canaan Land Ministries, 449 CO Rd 165, Autaugaville, AL 36003, Graceway Recovery Center, 412 W. Tift Ave, Albany GA 31701 and Still Waters, 2699 Hwy 221, Douglas, GA 31533. Memorialization is by cremation. www.simsfuneralhome.com
