McAlpin Funeral Home, Inc. dba Lanier - Andler Funeral Home 8261 Highway 90 East Sneads, FL 32460 Ms. Dollie Simpson Rivers, 85, of Sneads, Florida passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, in Marianna, Florida. Dollie was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and a member of Millsprings Baptist Church. She had retired from Florida State Hospital after 30 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed taking care of other people and loved her grandchildren dearly. She never missed watching an episode of Family Feud on TV, was a champion Bingo player and Valentine Queen in 2017 at Chipola Retirement Center. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Stephens of Bainbridge, GA; one grandson, Anthony DeWayne Stephens of Crawfordville, FL; five great granddaughters; one great grandson; two great great-grandsons; and one sister, Ollie Barfoot of Sneads, FL. Dollie was preceded in death by her parents Hollie and Lillie Simpson; and three sisters, Annie Laura McDaniel, Rosa Lee McDaniel and Stella Mae Wilson. The family will receive friends Monday, January 29, 2018 at McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, Florida from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM CST. Graveside Services will be held at Millsprings Cemetery in Sneads on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 1:30 PM CST with Rev. Michael Murray officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing.
