I met Don through amateur radio when I lived in Taunton and went to Coyle High School. I had call sign W1WAG and met Don @ his home in Brockton in 1954. We kept in touch for awhile. Don seems to have led a very full life. May he rest in peace.

May God's promise found in John 6:40, of the hope to see our loved ones again, comfort your heart and give you peace, strength, and hope in the days ahead.

To Don's family
My husband, Tony Lacina, was friends with Don, in his younger days living in Brockton. He had the highest respect for Don and his achievements.
May your wonderful memories sustain you.
Thoughts and prayers to you
God Bless

Chief Benecchi,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USNR-especially during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow Servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

My Dad, WO Robert Smith, served for years with Don in the Naval Reserve in Brockton. "Smitty" spoke of him Frequently and Fondly.

I'm very sad to learn of Don's passing. My condolences to the entire family. Don was a good friend and an excellent ham radio operator. I roomed with him at the Dayton Ohio Hamvention in 2015. Moist recently i had lunch with him at the Orlando FL Hamcation in February. He always participated in radio special events and contests and was an excellent morse code (CW) operator. He was a wealth of technical knowledge and always willing to help others. RIP Don you will be missed.......

I have only known Don for a brief few years but he was so very kind, funny, a true gentleman. Always willing to go the extra mile it seems. I shared in his passion for Amateur Radio where he was truly a professional. Don, amigo, you will be missed by your friends and colleges. Its with a heavy heart that I must say goodbye.
