Eunice Worley Obituary

Mrs. Eunice Marie Green Worley, 92, died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Extendicare.
Funeral services for Mrs. Worley will be held today, June 8, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Thomas officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service time today from 1 to 2 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Piney Grove United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Worley was born in Houston County on Jan. 22, 1917, the daughter of the late John Carter Green and Mary Emma Sanders Green. She worked as a seamstress for Dothan Manufacturing, Blumberg's, Todd and Sons and S. Brannon Clothing in Dothan. She was well known for her alteration work. Mrs. Worley was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Irby Parrish, Sr. two children, Frances Shirah, Irby Parrish, Jr., two brothers, Fletcher Green, Wilson Green, two sisters, Beulah Lewis and Merlene Brooks.
Mrs. Worley leaves behind to cherish her memories her son, Jimmy E. Parrish and his wife Linda of Dothan, sister, Pansey Cobb of Dothan, grandchildren, Jerry Shirah, Danny Shirah, Tommy Shirah, Steve Parrish, Keith Parrish, Djuna Phillips, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express a heart-felt thank you to Extendicare and Wiregrass Hospice for all the love, care, and support they gave to Mrs. Worley.

I will alway carry with me the wonderful memories of my Aunt Eunice. She was kind, thoughtful, and very funny.

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers and Mrs. Worley will be missed dearly, but it is a blessing to know she is not hurting or sick any more. She was a very precious lady, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to get to know her. May God bless you all and give you His comfort and peace.
