Evie Rabon Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Rabon will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Pete Blackshear and Ricky Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Bluff Spring Baptist Church under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time on Monday. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Rabon was born June 30, 1922, in Dothan, the daughter of the late Vince Roberts and Josephine Barfield Roberts. She was a member of Springfield Free Will Baptist Church and loved listening to gospel sings. She loved the outdoors, especially camping in the Smoky Mountains. Her true love came from being with her husband and family.
She is preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Rabon leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband of 69 years, Tobe Rabon of Ashford, a sister-in-law, Mary Roberts of Palm Bay, Fla., nephew, Ronnie McCraney and his wife Jean of Decatur, Ga., grand-nephew, Mark McCraney and his wife Danielle of Red Bay, grand-niece Lori McCraney of Nashville, Tenn., great-great-nephews, Ethan McCraney and Lucas McCraney of Red Bay., several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be the Rev. Mark McCraney, Rex Drulard, Jack Trimm, Michael Chancey, Mark Watson and Michael Harper.
