James B. Parmer, a resident of Abbeville, died Saturday afternoon, April 21, 2018, at his home. He was 75. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 24, 2018, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Brother Dan Corley and Pastor Jerry Bolton officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 280, Abbeville, AL 36310. Mr. Parmer was born in Blue Springs and was reared in Blakely and Abbeville, son of the late Andy C. Parmer and Odell Shirah Parmer. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Abbeville. Mr. Parmer was retired from Money's Ford as Service Manager and in earlier years was employed by Walter Hand Ford in Ozark in the same capacity. In later years, he transported vehicles for automobile dealerships. Mr. Parmer was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Champion Parmer. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Sharon Williams (Larry), Dothan, Gail Childs (Bruce), Montgomery and Beverly Nowell (Kenneth), Abbeville; a son, Andy Parmer, Dothan; a brother, Delmus Parmer (Connie), Dacula, GA; seven grandchildren, Lindsay Williams, Nikki Williams (Vance Parker), Trent Nowell, Dallas Nowell, Brett Childs, Zacary Childs, Bradley Childs (Tina); three great-grandchildren, Ian Wright, Chloe Childs and Brayden Williams; a niece, Paige McPhail (Jeff) and a great-nephew, Reece McPhail. Serving as active pallbearers will be Trent Nowell, Dallas Nowell, Bradley Childs, Brett Childs, Zacary Childs and Vance Parker. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lindsay Williams, Nikki Williams, Brayden Williams, Ian Wright, Chloe Childs and Reece McPhail.
