A native of Florida, Mrs. Neel resided in Jackson County for the past 39 years. She was retired from Florida Sate Hospital, where she was employed as a nurse. Mrs. Neel was a member of Grand Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, J.W., Genonia and Batzell McDaniel; two sisters, Clara Lipham and Jewel Carpenter; husband William Neel; and three sons, Carl Oscar, Daryl Lynn, and Thomas Earl Neel. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Robert Fendick of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Jennifer Neel, James Neel and wife Brittany of Cleveland, Tennessee; Laura Mauck and husband Ryan of Dallas, Texas, Ashley Bowen and husband Brad of Destin, Florida, and Brandon Fendick of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. Also, survivors include five great grandchildren, Landon, Logan, and Alyssa Neel of Cleveland, Tennessee, Jackson Mauck of Dallas, Texas, and Ashton Reef Bowen of Destin, Florida. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday, May 26, 2014 at Grand Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Caron Harn officiating. Interment will follow in Dykes Cemetery in Grand Ridge with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 1 pm Monday, May 26, 2014 until funeral services at Grand Ridge Baptist Church.
