June Blair Walding, a resident of Midland City, died early Sunday evening, October 19, 2014, in the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center, Dothan. She was 75. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 22, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend T.P. Martin and Reverend Charles Blair officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Midland City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland. At other times, the family will be at the home of a daughter, Rosa Lingo, in Midland City. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Ms. Walding was born and reared in Midland City, daughter of the late Sam Blair and Rowena Starling Blair. She lived in Midland City most of her lifetime before moving to Dothan. Ms. Walding attended the Grimes United Methodist Church. She retired as a bookkeeper from the Mikie Walding Construction Company. In earlier years, Ms. Walding was employed as City Clerk for the Town of Midland City. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents who helped to raise her, Joe and Docia Starling, and her paternal grandparents, Howard and Lillian Blair. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Deborah Walding Adams (Michael), Fadette, AL; Jill Walding Godwin (Terry), Newton, AL; Rosa Walding Lingo (David), Midland City; two sons, Joseph Walding, Birmingham; Kevin Walding, Dothan; three brothers, Rev. Charles Blair (Joann), Adel, GA; Terry Blair, Arlington, TX; Jimmy Blair (Carol), Westchester, PA; four grandchildren, Rhonda McSween (Jamie), David McSween, Ranah McSween, and Heather Morgan; three great-grandchildren, Lillian Morgan, Olivia Miller, and Sophie Wilcox. Serving as active pall bearers will be Micheal Walding, Mason Walding, Ryan Blair, David Blair, Mike Adams, and David Lingo. The family would like to extend its gratitude for the care provided by the staff on the 400 hall at Extendicare Health Center.
