Patsy "Patti" Green

1942 - 2026

Patsy Joyce Green, lovingly known as Patti, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026. She was born on December 14, 1942, in Graceville, Florida, and spent her life pouring love into her family, her friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Patti graduated from Dothan High School in 1960 and spent her life embracing the many places her husband Phil's military service and later career with International Paper led them. Through every move, she had a gift for turning each house into a home and for being the most loving and steady support to Phil and Laura.

Her table was always open, and no one ever left without feeling completely cared for. She didn't just welcome guests - she spoiled them, making friends feel like family wherever life took her.

She gave freely and loved deeply. Patti never met a stranger. Whether inviting someone to stay awhile, to fish off her dock, or making sure her grandson had every snack he could possibly want from Publix, she lived with open hands and an open heart.

Patti found her greatest joy at her lake house on Lake Eufaula, where sunsets painted the sky in breathtaking colors and laughter echoed across the water. She loved beautiful flowers, long conversations around the table, and the simple gift of being together. Her home was a place of warmth - where friends became family and everyone was welcome, especially if they wanted to enjoy a glass of wine on her dock.

Her greatest delight was her grandson, Wyatt - her best friend and only grandchild. She treasured taking him to eat sushi, spoiling him just enough, and simply being by his side. Wyatt shared these words about his grandmother:

"She was a loving, caring and giving person and a joy to be around and she was loved by many. My favorite part about her was her soft and kind personality and how she loved everything."

Those who knew Patti will remember her soft and gentle spirit, her kindness, and her steady presence. She loved fully, gave generously, and made every gathering brighter just by being there.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Phil, and her parents, Thomas Green (T.G.) and Nellie Ruth Hicks.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura; her son-in-law, Jarrod; her beloved grandson, Wyatt; of Pike Road, Alabama and her five brothers and sisters: Susan and Bob Green of Georgetown, Georgia; Tom and Mary Hicks of Alford, Florida; Ginger Hallford of Toccoa, Georgia; Jerry and Eve Hicks of Abbeville, Alabama; and Sonny Hicks of Marietta, Georgia. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will carry her memory forward.

The family will celebrate her life at a later date.
